Vacua
A downloadable game
I find myself at the edge of it all, and I don't hear the abyss calling.
Welcome to: Vacua
What is Vacua?
Vacua is a space exploration game, with heavy emphasis on visual storytelling, ambience and decay.
The project is a love letter to Noctis, a procedurally generated universe exploration game for the MS-DOS. Unfortunately the project was dropped in 2001 just before a major update and since then, nothing like Noctis has reached the market.
Vacua is also something of a "Face your own Fears" kind of project. I suffer from Astrophobia, an irrational fear of celestial bodies and space in general. (Not Astraphobia, the fear of lightning). Though its not something that hits me when I look at something like a picture of Saturn when I don't think too hard about it, it happens however when I take a minute to ponder... How massive, is Sagittarius A*?
That's what I want to capture with this game.
lat. Vacua = Vacuum
That's right, Originally I thought about going with Vastum Per Astra but then I realized 1. It's freaking edgy and 2. it's a mouthful to say.
So I just went with Vacua.
Game when?
No idea, I just started. The ship is in, I have the scene set, the player can move. But the logic is far from ready for even publishing as is now.
If you are interested even a little in where this is going. Follow this place, I'll be posting updates as soon as I have any. I have no clue how itch.io works so I trust you to be smart enough to figure out a way to follow along xD.
